Hi! I’m Lorelei Smillie, a writer and journalist from NYC.

My work spans politics, business, and features. I’m interested in the ways in which culture, power, and money intersect.

After graduating from Colorado College, I wrote about climate tech and business for Colorado Media Group and its three publications: NORTH Magazine, the Southern Colorado Business Forum & Digest, and the Southern Colorado Insider (formerly the Colorado Springs Indy).

In 2025, I wrote for the Denver Gazette, where I covered local business news and features. I also covered municipal government in Winter Park, CO for the Sky-Hi News.
